Jakob recently earned a Bachelor’s degree in Composition from Berklee College of Music in Boston. Though specializing in composition, Jakob began his life of music by teaching himself to play the piano at the age of five. He has worked with professors such as Lydia Artymiw and Kevin Hobbs of the University of Minnesota, as well as Michael Chertock of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. After studying piano performance for years, culminating in a year of study at the University of Cincinnati, Jakob decided that his passion lay in writing music, and transferred to Berklee College of Music, where he studied music theory, music history and composition. He has since spent his time in search of a “personal composition technique,” while completing his degree and working towards an application for additional graduate school in California. In his free time, Jakob enjoys cooking, cycling, reading, and playing the piano.
