Alexa recently completed her Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance with a Pedagogy (teaching) emphasis from Viterbo University in La Crosse, Wisconsin, where she studied with Dr. Timothy Schorr and Dr. Mary Ellen Haupert. Both in school and out, Alexa has developed her piano performing and teaching abilities by participating in a wide variety of opportunities such as performance recitals, master class lectures, and providing holiday music at the Alexander Ramsey House in St. Paul. She is also an experienced accompanist, playing for other musical performers and providing music for masses at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Her joy of sharing her love for her instrument with others and her passion for helping students to effectively express themselves through music is the reason why Alexa chose to pursue teaching. Alexa has worked with students of all ages and works to tailor lessons to suit the students’ learning style and musical goals. When she isn’t at the piano bench, Alexa enjoys drawing, sewing, hiking, learning about wildlife, and playing mini golf. She is the proud mother of a very cute hedgehog named Linus.
