Calvin has cultivated a passion for music from an early age, and his love for music has continued to drive him as a musician throughout high school and college. Calvin has been studying piano since the age of five. He began his studies with Dr. Reid Smith. After attending the Saint Paul School for Performing Artists for his first two years of high school, Calvin then began taking a full-time college course load at the University of Minnesota with the Post-Secondary Enrollment Options program. He is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance at the University of Minnesota, Studying with Professor Alexander Braginsky. Calvin gears his teaching towards helping students find ways of playing that work best for them. When pieces are technically and physically demanding, he helps his students to be innovative and creative to come up with solutions. Calvin has taught several piano students from ages 8-14 privately for over 2 years, and is excited to continue to grow as a piano teacher through All Things Musik. Calvin is a fun and lighthearted teacher who encourages his students to seek their highest potential and to learn to enjoy the instrument.
