Charlie is a professional musician and instructor currently living in the Northwest suburbs. He began taking piano lessons at the age of 5 and was so enthralled with the instrument that he didn't take an extended break from lessons until his sophomore year of college! Although classically trained in piano, Charlie chose to pursue a Bachelor of Music degree in Vocal Performance at Lawrence University in Appleton, WI. After receiving his degree in 2016, he took a year off from school, working and teaching in the Twin Cities. He then moved to Tempe, Arizona to attend Arizona State University, where he completed a Master of Music degree in Music Theatre Performance with an Opera Emphasis. Charlie has performed in opera and musical theater performances both at the university level and professionally and has also played piano for voice recitals and musical theater productions. As a teacher of piano and voice, Charlie values the individual preferences of each student and strives to create an eclectic learning experience, introducing classic repertoire and techniques alongside whatever other unique interests each student may have. He believes that this balance keeps students engaged and ensures the development of well-rounded musicianship.
