Jon received his Bachelor of Science in Music Composition with an emphasis in Piano Performance from Bethel University (St. Paul) in 2012. He studied with Dr. Herbert Johnson, the chair of the piano faculty. Jon started learning piano at the age of five, beginning with the Alfred Method and moving on to more classical methods. Jon has performed in various venues, recitals, as well as collaborative performances either in a small ensemble or most recently, worship bands. As a teacher, Jon is focused on finding ways for the student to enjoy the process of learning piano while also learning theory and developing proper technique. Jon is also able to teach composition from classical counterpoint to more modern sound design and digital music. When Jon isn’t teaching, he is playing piano with the Creative Love Church worship band, writing software, running, and playing tennis.
